On-Screen Video Controls
If you move the pointer anywhere within a video pane, a set of controls appears at the bottom of the video pane. If no camera is selected, these
controls do not appear. Also, if you are using a low resolution monitor to view multiple video panes (2 x 2, 3 x 3, 4 x 4), the controls may not
appear for all screen layouts. To make the controls visible, switch to a simpler screen layout or Extended View. To hide the video controls, move
your cursor outside the video pane.
Figure 23. Controls for Live Video
The video controls allow you to adjust the camera’s iris and focus, control the playback of recorded video, activate manual recording, export video
clips and snapshots, and operate digital zoom controls. Note that the fast-forward controls are unavailable when viewing live video. However,
the controls for rewinding are still available, which provides instant playback of events without the need to conduct a separate search.
The set of video controls is slightly different when playing back recorded video found through a search. For more information, refer to Playing
Back Video on page 71. Note also that video controls are tied to user permissions. If you do not see a particular video control, you do not have
permissions to use it. Contact your system administrator to change your permissions.
ADJUSTING IRIS
If a camera is positioned on a scene with varying lighting, you can adjust the iris manually to compensate for the amount of light that enters the
camera.
To adjust the iris on a camera:
1. Choose a layout in which the video controls are visible.
2. Select the camera you want to display. Refer to Selecting Video to Display on page 23.

controls do not appear.
4. Click the Iris button . A vertical scroll bar appears (refer to Figure 24).
5. To open the iris, move the slider up the scroll bar.
6. To decrease the iris opening, click and drag the slider down.
