SETUP
Opens and closes the Setup (3-9) and Advanced Setup (3-51) menus.

RETURN
Closes certain Setup menu screens without saving changes. Refer to Section 3 for more information.

PROGRAM
Activates program mode (4-22), which creates a program list for the loaded disc. When a program list
has been created, program mode also activates program playback.

SEARCH
Activates search mode (4-28), which activates playback of a specific title, chapter, group, track, folder,
time, frame, or page on the loaded disc.

TOP MENU
Open the disc menu or top menu, provided the loaded disc includes a menu. In some cases, pressing
the MENU and TOP MENU buttons opens the same menu. In some cases, a specific button must be
pressed to open the menu. For instance, the TOP MENU button must be pressed to open DVD-A top
menus. Refer to the Disc Menu Command Matrix on pages 4-5 and 4-6 for more information.
When the Setup or Advanced Setup menu is open, pressing the ENTER button selects the highlighted
parameter or setting. When certain playback modes are activated, pressing the ENTER button executes
the selected option. Refer to Sections 3 and 4 for more information.
Navigate through the Setup and Advanced Setup menus, as well as certain disc menus. Instances in
which the and arrows perform different functions are noted throughout this user guide. Refer to
Sections 3 and 4 for more information.
Activates playback of the loaded disc at regular playback speed. When pause or resume mode is
activated, pressing the Play or Pause button activates playback at the current playback time. When stop
mode is activated, pressing the Play button activates playback from the beginning of the loaded disc.
When the disc drawer is open, pressing the Play button closes the disc drawer and activates playback
from the beginning of the loaded disc.

STOP
Activates resume mode, which pauses playback of the loaded disc at the current playback time. The Stop
button can also be used to activate stop mode, which stops playback of the loaded disc. The table on
page 4-12 indicates the playback modes available for each disc format. When playback or pause mode
is activated, pressing the Stop button activates resume or stop mode. In some cases, the Stop button
must be pressed twice in succession to activate stop mode. When resume mode is activated, pressing the
Stop button activates stop mode.
