Erasing the titles
To erase the disc title and all track
titles at once
1 Press MENU/NO so that “Edit Menu”
appears.
2 Turn MULTI JOG until “Name ?”appears,
then press ENTER/YES.
3 Turn MULTI JOG until “Nm All Ers ?”
appears, then press ENTER/YES.
“Nm All Ers ??” appears.
4 To erase all the titles, press ENTER/YES.
“Complete!!” appears, and the disc title
and all track titles are erased.
To erase a disc title or a track title
1 Press MENU/NO so that “Edit Menu”
appears.
2 Turn MULTI JOG until “Name ?” appears,
then press ENTER/YES.
3 Turn MULTI JOG until “Nm Erase ?”
appears, then press ENTER/YES.
4 Turn MULTI JOG until the disc title or the
track number with the title you want to
erase appears, then press ENTER/YES.
“Complete!!” appears, and the disc title or
the track title is erased.
To cancel erasing
Press MENU/NO.
To return to the condition before
labeling/erasing
You can return to the original condition
immediately after labeling or erasing a title
(see page 61).

The MD deck lets you erase unwanted sound
quickly and easily. You can restore erased
recordings by using the Undo Function (see
page 61) immediately after the erase
operation. However, you cannot restore
erased recordings if you do other editing, so
be careful when erasing recordings.
The three options to erase recordings are:
Erasing a single track (Tr Erase Function)
Erasing all tracks (All Erase Function)
Erasing a portion of a track (A-B Erase
Function)
Erasing a single track
(Tr Erase Function)
You can erase a track simply by specifying its
track number. When you erase a track, the
total number of tracks on the MD decreases
by one and all the tracks following the erased
one are renumbered.
Example: Erasing track 2.
All the tracks following the erased one are
renumbered, so when erasing multiple tracks
(e.g., tracks 2, 5 and 6), we recommend
erasing from the higher numbered tracks.
