2 Press TUNER/BAND repeatedly to
select FM or AM.
3 Press . or > repeatedly to tune in
a preset station.

* The station name appears when you tune in a
labelled station.
4 Press MD REC.
The MD stands by for recording and the MD
REC button lights.
5 Press MD NX.
Recording starts.

Tips
If noise is heard while recording an AM radio
program, move the AM loop antenna to reduce the
noise or connect a ground wire to the U terminal
(see page 87)
You can record the MD in monaural format. For
details, see “Long Play recording” on page 40.
You can adjust the recording level to the desired
volume after performing step 4 (see page 46).
Note
If the MD is record protected, “C11” and “Protected”
appear alternately and the MD cannot be recorded on.
Remove the MD, then slide the record protection tab
to the closed position (see page 37).

Recording from the
radio on an MD
You can make an analog recording from the radio
on an MD. If you use a partially recorded MD,
recording starts after the recorded tracks. To erase
the recorded contents, see “Erasing recordings” on
page 51.
1 Insert a recordable MD.
Insert the MD until the deck pulls it in.
When the disc presence indicator is lit in the
display, another MD has been inserted
already. Press A to eject the MD and then
insert a recordable MD if necessary.
