Tips
• When recording to and from a tape, the playback
operations vary depending on the direction of the
tape.
• When recoding a TEXT-CD, the CD TEXT
information (except for the disc title) is
automatically recorded (see page 50).
• If you use a recorded MD, the MD deck
automatically locates the end of the recorded
portion and starts recording from there. To record
after erasing all tracks on an MD, see “Erasing
recordings” on page 51.
• If you want to record from the reverse side of a
tape, press TAPE B n to light its indicator after
pressing SYNC REC in step 3.
• When you record on both sides of a tape, be sure to
start from the front side. If you start from the
reverse side, recording stops at the end of the
reverse side.
• When you want to reduce the hiss noise of a tape in
low-level high-frequency signals, do the following
procedure before pressing SYNC REC.
1 Press MODE SELECT repeatedly to select “Set
Up Mode”, then press PUSH ENTER.
2 Move the multi stick toward b or B repeatedly
to select “TAPE Set Up ?”, then press PUSH
ENTER.
3 Move the multi stick toward b or B repeatedly
to select “DOLBY NR Set Up ?”, then press
PUSH ENTER.
4 Move the multi stick toward b or B repeatedly
to select “On”, then press PUSH ENTER.
“DOLBY NR” appears in the display.
To return to the original setting, repeat steps 1
through 4 and select “Off” in step 4.
Notes
• If the MD is record protected, “C11” and
“Protected” appears in the display alternately and
the MD cannot be recorded on. Press A and remove
the MD, slide the record protection tab to the closed
position (see page 37), reinsert the MD and try
again.
• You cannot listen to other sources while recording.
2 Press SYNC REC repeatedly to select
the recording mode you want, then
press PUSH ENTER.
CD t MD: Recording from a CD to an
MD.
CD t TAPE B: Recording from a CD to a
tape.
TAPE B t MD: Recording from a tape to
an MD.
MD t TAPE B: Recording from an MD to
a tape.
CD t MD
t TAPE B: Recording from a CD to an
MD and a tape simultaneously.
TAPE A t B HI-Speed: High speed
recording from a tape in deck A to a tape in
deck B.
3 When “PUSH ENTER!” flashes, press
PUSH ENTER.
Recording starts.
To stop recording
Press x.
