! When playing discswith MP3/WMA files and
audio data (CD-DA) suchas CD-EXTRA and
MIXED-MODE CDs, both typescan be played
only by switchingmode between MP3/WMA
and CD-DA with BAND.
! If you have switchedbetween playback of
MP3/WMA files andaudio data (CD-DA), play-
back starts atthe first track on thedisc.
! The built-in CDplayer can play back anMP3/
WMA file recordedon CD-ROM. (Refer to
page 67 for files that canbe played back.)
! Do not insertanything other than a CD into
the CD loadingslot.
! A CD left partiallyinserted after ejection may
incur damage or fall out.
! There is sometimesa delay between starting
up playback andthe sound being issued. This
is particularly thecase when playing back
multi-session and manyfolders. When being
read in, Formatread is displayed.
! If you cannot inserta disc completely or if
after you insert a disc the discdoes not play,
check that thelabel side of the disc is up.
Press CD EJECT toeject the disc, and check
the disc fordamage before inserting the disc
again.
! Playback is carriedout in order of filenumber.
Foldersare skipped if they contain no files. (If
folder 01 (ROOT)contains no files, playback
commences with folder02.)
! When playing backfiles recorded as VBR
(variable bit rate)files, the play time willnot be
correctly displayed iffast forward or reverse
operations are used.
! If inserted disc containsno files that can be
played back, NoAudio is displayed.
! There is nosound on fast forward or reverse.
! If the built-in CDplayer does not operate prop-
erly, an error messagesuch as ERROR-11
may be displayed.Refer to Understanding
built-in CD player error messageson page 65.
! When an MP3/WMAdisc is inserted, folder
name and file namebegin to scroll to the left
automatically.

WMA) operation
The MP3/WMA function menu has the follow-
ing functions:
RPT (repeat play)RDM (random play)
SCAN (scan play)F.LIST (folder title list)
PAUSE (pause)TTLin (disc title input)
R.SRCH (search method)T.READ (tag dis-
play)

! If you do notoperate the function within about
30 seconds, thedisplay is automatically re-
turned.
(When you selectthe disc title input mode
(TTLin), the displayis not returned automati-
cally.)
! When playing aCD-ROM disc, if youswitch to
the disc title inputmode (TTLin), Cant input
is displayed andyou cannot input the title.
Repeating play
For MP3/WMA playback, there are three re-
peat play ranges: Folder repeat (folder re-
peat), Track repeat (one-track repeat) and
Disc repeat (repeat all tracks).
1 Press FUNC to select the repeat mode.
