# When a subwoofer is connected tothe rear
output, select SUB.W (subwoofer).
# When the rear outputsetting is SUB. W, you
cannot change the subwoofer controller.
3 Touch c or d on the PREOUT setting to
switch the subwoofer output or non fading
output.
Touch c to select subwoofer output and
SUB.W appears in the display. Touch d to se-
lect non fading output and FULL appears in
the display.
Notes
! Even if you change thissetting, there is no
output unless youturn the nonfading output
(refer to Using nonfadingoutput on page 82)
or subwoofer output(refer to Using subwoofer
output on page 82)in the audio menu on.
! If you change the subwoofercontroller, sub-
woofer output and nonfading output in the
audio menu return tothe factory settings.
Switching the sound
muting/attenuation
Sound from this system is muted or attenu-
ated automatically when the signal from the
equipment with mute function is received.
! The sound is turned off, MUTE is displayed
and no audio adjustments are possible.
! The sound is attenuated, ATT is displayed
and no audio adjustments, except volume
control, are possible.
! Sound from this system returns to normal
when the muting or attenuation is can-
celed.
% Touch TEL/GUIDE on the initial menu to
select any of the muting, attenuation or
off.
Touch TEL/GUIDE until the desired setting ap-
pears in the display.
! MUTE Muting
! ATT-20dBAttenuation (ATT-20dB has a
stronger effect than ATT-10dB)
! ATT-10dB Attenuation
! OFF Turn thesound muting/attenuation
off
Notes
! The sound is mutedor attenuated, MUTE or
ATT are displayed and no audioadjustment is
possible.
! Operation returns to normalwhen the phone
connection or thevoice guidance is ended.
Mixing AVG-VDP1 beep and
audio sound
When connecting the AVG -VDP1 to this unit, a
beep sound is occasionally outputted from the
AVG-VDP1. To ensure the quality audio sound
from this unit, set this function to GUIDE to
properly mix the beep sound and the audio
sound.
! You can operate this function only when a
Pioneer Vehicle Dynamics Processor (AVG-
VDP1) is connected to this unit.
! When the multi-channel processor (e.g.,
DEQ-P8000) is connected to this unit, you
cannot use this function.
! We recommend that you select GUIDE to
ensure quality sound.
