Recording into an existing
group
You can add tracks to an existing group.
1 Follow the same procedures as from
step 1 to 3 of “Recording into a new
group” on page 21.
2 Press z MD (or MD z on the remote).
“New Track” flashes and the MD deck
stands by for recording.
3 Press GROUP SKIP on the remote
repeatedly until the desired group
appears.
4 Press MD NX, then start playing the
desired source to record.
If “Group Full!” appears when you
press z MD (or MD z on the remote)
in step 2
You cannot start recording because there is
insufficient character space for group
management.
Delete unnecessary characters (disc title or
track titles) until group recording is possible
(see page 32).
Notes
• The recorded track is added to the end of the group.
• When you newly record a track into an existing
group, the track numbers following the newly
recorded track may change when the Group
Function is turned off.
• If “Group Full!” appears during recording, track
numbers are not marked.
Recording a CD on an MD
— CD-MD Synchro Recording
1 Load a recordable MD.
2 Load a CD you want to record.
Proceed to step 4 to record not using the
Group Function.
3 To record using the Group Function,
press GROUP on the remote repeatedly
until the GROUP indicator lights up.
4 Press SYNCHRO MODE repeatedly until
“CD-MD SYNC” appears.
5 Press ENTER/START.
“Press START” flashes.
The MD deck stands by for recording and
the CD player pauses for play.
Proceed to step 7 to record not using the
Group Function.
6 To record using the Group Function,
perform the following procedure
depending on where you want to
record:
To record into a new group
Proceed to step 7.
To record into an existing group
Press GROUP SKIP on the remote
repeatedly until the desired group appears.
