8.3.2 Technical data for connecting cables
Further information on the chemical, mechanical and electrical characteristics of the cables can be
obtained from our customer service.
Observe the restrictions in the chapter "Conductor cross-sections" on page 20.
To reach the max. permitted cable length, you must use cable material that
matches the capacitance requirements listed below.
Insulation material
Sheathing PUR (polyurethane, code 11Y)
Core insulation PETP (polyesteraphtalate, code 12Y)
Capacitance
Motor cable less than 150 pF/m
RES-/Encoder-cable less than 120 pF/m

For a detailed description of cable types and how to assemble them, please refer to the accessories
manual.
Motor cables longer than 25m with motor choke 3YL only.

Remove the outer covering of the cable
and the shielding braid from the cores
for the required length. Secure the cores
with a cable tie.
Remove the outer covering of the cable
over a length of about 30mm, without
damaging the shielding braid.
Pull a cable tie through the slot in the
shielding rail (front panel) of the servo
amplifier.
Use the cable tie to clamp the shielding
braid of the cable firmly to the shielding
rail.
