Step 4. Playback
This section explains basic various playback features
available on the D4.
1. Playback
1 Select the song that you want to play back, and set
the time location.
To select a song, set the [MODE] knob to “SONG
SEL”, and then use the [VALUE] dial to display the
desired song’s name and number. Press the CURSOR
[] key to select the song.
You can begin play back at a time location other than
the beginning of the song. To change the time location,
set the [MODE] knob to “LOCATE” and press the
CURSOR [ ] key to make the counter display blink.
Use the [VALUE] dial to set the time. location.
2 Listen to the playback.
Press the [PLAY] key. The key will light, and the
counter will begin moving. Use the [TRACK] faders to
adjust the volume of each track. Use the [MASTER]
fader to adjust the overall volume of the song. (→p.36)
3 Stop playback.
Press the [STOP] key. The key will go dark.
Double-speed playback
During playback, you can press and hold the [FF] key to
play back at double speed.
During playback, you can press and hold the [REW] key
to play back in reverse at double speed.
Half-speed playback
During playback, you can press and hold the [PLAY] key
to play back at half-speed.
2. Playback extras
In addition to the playback methods described above, you
can also add effects or listen to the internal rhythms dur-
ing play back. For details, refer to the pages listed below.
