2. In the
Version
tab, make a note of the
information in the
Processor
field.
3. Download the program to your phone
straight from the Internet using Internet
Explorer on your phone.
You may see a single *.xip, *.exe, or
*.zip file, a setup.exe file, or several
versions of files for different device types
and processors. Be sure to select the
program designed for the Pocket PC and
your unit processor type.
4. Read any installation instructions, Read
Me files, or documentation that comes
with the program. Many programs
provide special installation instructions.
5. Tap the file, such as a *.xip or *.exe file.
The installation wizard will begin. Follow
the directions on the screen.
6. Once installation is complete, tap
Start
→
Programs
, and then tap the program
icon to open it.
Adding programs to the Start
menu
Once you have installed new programs on
your phone, you can add any of them to the
Start
menu so that you can quickly open
them from the Today screen. You can
register up to 7 programs in the
Start
menu.
1. From the
Start
menu, tap
Settings
→
Personal
tab
→
Menus
.
2. Tap the check box for the program you
want to add.
If you do not see the program listed, you
can either use the
File Explorer
application on your phone to move the
program to the
Start Menu
folder, or use
ActiveSync on the computer to create a
shortcut to the program and place the
shortcut in the
Start Menu
folder.
