3. The recorder repeats procedure 2 until the ALARM
REC STANDBY button is pressed.
4. To stop alarm recording, press the ALARM REC
STANDBY button.
Series Recording
Series Recording refers to recording on two series-con-
nected Disc Recorders.
Refer to Series Recording in the SYSTEM menu on page
19 for the necessary settings.
The following three methods are available for Series
Recording.
Alternate Alarm Recording
When the disc space of the MASTER recorder is
used up in Alarm Recording, Alarm Recording is
switched to the SLAVE recorder.
Alternate Time Lapse Recording
When the disc space of the MASTER recorder is
used up in Time Lapse Recording, Time Lapse
Recording is switched to the SLAVE recorder.
Auxiliary Alarm Recording
When a second alarm signal is received while the
MASTER recorder is recording, an auxiliary record
is made on the SLAVE recorder.
Notes:
• Make sure to confirm all settings for operating
disc recorders in series recording.
Set the SERIES REC parameter in the SYSTEM
menu to MASTER for the first recorder and to
SLAVE 1 for the second. When three or more
recorders are connected for Time Lapse
Recording, set SLAVE 2 for the third recorder,
SLAVE 3 for the fourth, and so on up to SLAVE
15. The SLAVE 2 - 15 recorders are activated in
numerical sequence.
• For Alternate Alarm or Time Lapse Recording,
set the ENDLESS parameter in the REC MODE 1
menu to OFF.
Select the same recording method when operat-
ing multiple recorders in Alternate Alarm
Recording or Auxiliary Alarm Recording.
Alternate Alarm Recording
Refer to Series Recording 1 on page 13 for connections.
1. In the SYSTEM menu of both recorders, set the
START UP STATUS parameter to ALARM REC.

2. Load a write enabled disc to both recorders. Then
first press the ALARM REC STANDBY button of the
MASTER recorder and then that of the SLAVE
recorder.
The MASTER recorder starts recording in Alarm
Recording mode. When the disc space of the MAS-
TER recorder is used up, the SLAVE recorder will
start recording.
3. While the SLAVE recorder is recording, load a new
write enabled disc to the MASTER recorder, and
press the ALARM REC STANDBY button of the
MASTER recorder.
Alternate Time Lapse Recording
Refer to Series Recording 2 on page 13 for connections.
1. In the SYSTEM menu of all recorders, set the START
UP STATUS parameter to MANUAL and the SERIES
REC OUT parameter to CLOSE.
