2. Select the desired mode by pressing the or

MANUAL: Selects manual recording mode.
ALARM REC: Selects Alarm Recording mode.
DISC AND ALARM REC: Selects Alarm Recording
mode if a formatted disc is loaded.
The default setting is MANUAL.
Note: It is recommended to select the modes shown
below for normal usage.
Select ALARM REC in the menu if the Alarm
Recording mode is used frequently.
MANUAL or ALARM REC mode can also be
selected by pressing the ALARM REC STAND-
BY button on the control panel of the recorder.
Select DISC AND ALARM REC in the menu if the
disc is exchanged each time after the Disc
Recorder is powered up.
The recorder automatically selects Alarm
Record mode if a formatted disc is loaded.
Serial Port Setup
This item lets you set the parameters for communication
between the SERIAL CONTROL port of the recorder and
a PC when the Disc Recorder is remote controlled exter-
nally.
1. Move the cursor to SERIAL SET UP in the SYSTEM
menu by pressing the or button, then press
the SET button. The SERIAL SET UP menu shown
below appears on the monitor screen.

2. Move the cursor to the PORT NUMBER parameter
by pressing the

button.
3. Select the desired port number (01 to 16) by press-
ing the
or
button to identify the Disc
Recorder when multiple recorders are connected in
the system.
The default setting is 01.
4. Move the cursor to the SIGNAL TYPE parameter by
pressing the or button.
5. Select one of the interface modes shown below by
pressing the or button.
RS-232C, RS-232C (VCR mode) or RS-485
The default setting is RS-232C.
6. Move the cursor to the BAUD RATE parameter by
pressing the or button.
7. Select one of the baud rates shown below by press-
ing the or button.
2 400, 4 800, 9 600, 19 200, 38 400, 57 600,115 200
The default setting is 9 600.
8. Press the SET UP/ESC button to return to the SYS-
TEM menu.
Video Input Setup
This item lets you select the type of video input from the
input connectors located on the rear of the Disc
Recorder.
1. Move the cursor to VIDEO INPUT in the SYSTEM
menu by pressing the or button, then press
the SET button. The VIDEO INPUT menu shown
below appears on the monitor screen.

2. Move the cursor to the VIDEO INPUT parameter by
pressing the or button.
3. Select either COMPOSITE or S input by pressing the
or button.
COMPOSITE: Selects composite input for VIDEO
IN A and B
S: Selects the S-video input terminal.
The default setting is COMPOSITE.
4. Move the cursor to the CAMERA INPUT parameter
by pressing the or button.
5. Select the desired input and recording method by
pressing the or button.
