3. Move the cursor on the desired character in the
table by pressing the , , or button.
4. Press the SET button to pick up the character, and
place it in the editing area.
5. Repeat the above procedures 3 and 4 until the label
is completed.
6. If a wrong character is selected, press the (+) or (–)
button to move the cursor in the editing area.
Then press the SET button to overwrite the charac-
ter selected in the table.
Note: Press the (+) button to move the cursor to the
right, or press the (–) button to move the cursor
to the left.
7. To clear the characters in the editing area, move the
cursor to CLEAR in the table by pressing the or
button, then press the SET button.
8. Press the SET UP/ESC button to apply the setting
and return to the previous ALARM RECORD menu.
● Volume Label Setup
1. Press the (–) and (+) buttons simultaneously for
about 2 seconds. The LOGICAL FORMAT menu
shown below appears.

2. Move the cursor to VOLUME LABEL in the LOGICAL
FORMAT menu by pressing the or button,
then press the SET button. The label editing menu

Alarm Label above.
4. Press the SET UP/ESC button to apply the setting
and return to the previous LOGICAL FORMAT
menu.
■ Password Setup
The system setup, format and disc functions can be
password protected to prevent malfunction of the sys-
tem due to accidental erasure of data, alteration of set-
tings or erroneous operations by unauthorized persons.
Three types of passwords can be set up as follows.
Setup Password: Password to limit access to
the system setup
Format Password: Password to limit access to
the disc format
Disc Password: Password to limit access to
specific records.

1. Move the cursor to the SET UP parameter in the
MAIN menu by pressing the or button.
