CD-R/RW MASTER RECORDER CR500 (Recording)
Preparation for recording
Connecting a sound source
Before making recording of analog or digital audio, you must make preparation for recording as
described below.
The following description assumes that the CR500 is turned on and a BWF formatted or CD-DA
formatted blank CD-R/RW disc is set to the disc tray. To record WAV files, use a BWF formatted
CD-R/RW disc. To record audio CD tracks, use a CD-DA formatted CD-R/RW disc.

The following description is assumed that the Home screen as shown below appears on the
display. The Home screen looks slightly different depending on the format type. The screen
examples below show the Home screens for a BWF (48/24) formatted and CD-DA formatted
discs.
To record an analog audio signal, connect a sound source to the [ANALOG INPUT] (bal-
anced or unbalanced) connectors. To record a digital audio signal, connect a sound source
to the [DIGITAL INPUT] connector.

If you make connection to both the analog balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA)
input connectors, the unbalanced input takes priority and the balanced input is dis-
