Plot to a File Using the AGILENT 35670A
The AGILENT 35670A has the ability to route plotter output to a file. If the file is
named with a “.HGL” file extension, then Word will recognize this file immediately
as an HP Graphics Language file.
Set up plotter output to a file
Press the [Plot/Print] hardkey.
Press the [PLOT/PRNT DESTINATN] softkey (F4).
Select the [OUTPUT TO FILE] softkey (F4).
Press the [OUTPUT FILENAME] softkey (F5).
Press the [CLEAR ENTRY] softkey (F9).
Enter P1.HGL and then press the [ENTER] softkey (F1)
Insert a 3.5” Disk into the AGILENT 35670A and ensure DEFAULT DISK is
INTERNAL DISK:
Press the [Save/Recall] hardkey.
Press the [DEFAULT DISK] softkey (F9).
Press the [INTERNAL DISK] softkey (F3).
Plot to file “P1.HGL”
Prepare Trace Titles and Plot Titles as described in the section “Plotting
and Printing Trace Data.”
Press the [Plot/Print] hardkey.
Press the [START PLOT] softkey (F1).
Inserting Picture of an HP-GL Plot File Into a MS Word document.
To import the plot file into the Word document, follow these steps:
Insert the 3.5” disk with the plot file “P1.HGL” into a PC.
Open a Word document
Select Insert P
icture
Click on the “Look in” arrow to change directories
Select A: (3½ Disk)
Double-Click on file “P1.HGL”
Word will automatically detect that it is an HP-GL file, because of the
.HGL file extension, and import the graphic directly.
