To obtain the best possible surround sound, set
the speakers you have connected and their
distance from your listening position.
Then use the test tone to adjust the volume and
the balance of the speakers to the same level.
Setting the speakers
1 Press DVD SETUP in stop mode.
The Setup Display appears.
2 Press v or V repeatedly to select
“SPEAKER SETUP”, then press
ENTER.
3 Press v or V repeatedly to select
“SIZE” or “DISTANCE”, then press
ENTER.
4 Press v or V repeatedly to select the
setup item, then press ENTER.
5 Press v or V repeatedly to select or set
a setting, then press ENTER.
To return to the default settings
Select the item to be returned to the default
setting and press CLEAR. However, the “SIZE”
setting cannot be returned.
Note
When the speaker output is set to “2CH” or “2.1CH”,
you cannot select “SIZE” or “DISTANCE” in step 3.
Set the speaker output to “5.1CH” (page 69), then set
the speakers.
xSIZE
When you move the surround speakers, set the
parameters for SURROUND. When you do not
connect center and surround speakers, press
SPEAKER OUT MODE repeatedly to select
“2CH” or “2.1CH” in step 5. The front, center
speakers and subwoofer setting is fixed, you
cannot change them.
