directly.

AM loop antenna assembly
Connect to the AM
antenna terminals.
Remove the vinyl tie
and take out the
connection line.
Bend in the reverse
direction.

Connection of AM antennas
1. Push the
lever.
2. Insert the
conductor.
3. Return the
lever.
Notes:
Do not connect two FM antennas simultaneously.
Even if an external AM antenna is used, do not disconnect the AM loop antenna.
Make sure AM loop antenna lead terminals do not touch metal parts of the panel.

Connecting the external input (EXT. IN) jacks
These jacks are for inputting multi-channel audio signals from an outboard decoder, or a component with a
different type of multi-channel decoder, such as a DVD Audio player, a multi-channel SACD player, or other
future multi-channel sound format decoder.
When making connections, also refer to the operating instructions of the other components.

Connecting the MULTI ZONE jacks
For instructions on operations using the MULTI ZONE FUNCTIONS. (See pages 38, 39)

If another power amplifier or pre-main (integrated) amplifier or is connected, the ZONE2 preout (variable/fixed
level) jacks can be used to play a different program source in ZONE2 the same time. (See page 38)
The ZONE2 video out is only for the ZONE2.

Perform the following operation before using an external controller connected to the RS-232C
terminal:
1. Press the ON/STANDBY button on the main unit and set the unit to the operating mode.
2. Perform the operation to turn off the power from the external control.
3. Check that the product has been set to the standby mode.
After checking the above, check the connections of the external controller. Operation is
possible.
