C4630 SE HOME AUDIO SYSTEM
INFRARED CONTROL
Problem Solution
IR commands are not being routed a) IR emitters must be plugged into P
ROGRAMMED IR jacks (see page 15).
to specific source components b) IR commands must be programmed in Macro Editor to output from a specific
P
ROGRAMMED
IR port (see page 34). Default Port output follows Source Input
number (Port 1 = Source 1, etc).
c) Programmed IR cannot be used in expanded systems (multiple C4630 SEs)
No IR output at primary C4630 SE IR L
INK(s) must be connected in parallel (daisy-chained) between C4630 SEs in
from keypad button presses expanded systems.
connected to secondary
C4630 SE(s) in an expanded system
C4630 SE remote does not control a) Remove the batteries, wait about 10 seconds and reinstall the batteries. Use
the C4630 SE unit only alkaline batteries.
b) Keep the remote off of static surfaces like carpet or rugs.
C4630 SE remote does not control a) Make sure the IR emitters are properly attached over the IR receivers on the
source components fronts of the source components and properly connected to the C4630 SE.
(In some cases the emitter may need to be moved closer to or further away
from the component being controlled.)
b) Be sure IR commands for source components (i.e. Play, Pause, Skip Forward,
Skip Backward) have been properly programmed-into C4630 SE Keypad
macros for the source control buttons in each zone in Sonance Control
Manager software (see pages 31 – 42).
Source does not respond to IR a) Check Sonance Control Manager to be sure the proper command has been
command(s) output by C4630 SE programmed-into a keypad button (see pages 31 – 42).
b) Confirm that you have programmed the command for the correct component.
If the desired component is not in the IR library, try programming commands
from other models of the same component type from that manufacturer.
c) Use the OptiLinQ IR Learner to re-learn the command from the original
remote into a new IR library and re-program the keypad macro (see page 36).
d) Make sure the IR emitter(s) are connected to the proper P
ROGRAMMED IR output
or to the C
OMMON IR output (see page 15).
e) Make sure the IR Routing switch is in the proper position (see page 15).
