the OS installation

This procedure completes the operating system installation.
Step 12: Alter the
tape configuration
file (
Enterprise
3500 only)

If you are running on a
Sun Enterprise
3500 platform, you must alter the
/kernel/drv/st.conf
file so the operating system recognizes the 3500’s
8mm tape drive. To accomplish that, do the following steps:
1. Start an editor such as vi or the CDE Text Editor, and load the
/kernel/drv/st.conf
file.
2. Find the
#tape-config-list=
line. It should be in the vicinity of
line number 40.
3. Insert, immediately before that line, the following:
4. Save the file and exit the editor.
