MD recording (when the ADV-M71 and DMD-M31 are connected with a system cord)
CDs can easily be recorded onto MiniDiscs. Check and adjust the recording input selection (analog or digital) and the recording level beforehand.

Turn on the ADV-M71s power.
The systems
power turns on.

Press the FUNCTION button and switch the function to
DVD.

Open the ADV-M71s disc holder, load
the CD, then close the disc holder.

Check that the total number of tracks and total playing time
on the CD appear on the display.
Example: For a CD with a total of 16 tracks and a total playing
time of 53 minutes, 20 seconds

Load the MD onto which you want to record into the MD
recorders MD slot.

Press the recording button on the MD
recorder once to set the recording
standby mode.

Press the play/pause button on the ADV-M71 or the DVD
play button on the remote control unit.
Recording of the
CD starts
automatically.

The recording standby mode is set once playback of the CD ends.

Perform the same operations as for steps 1 to 5 above.

Press the CD SRS button on the MD
recorder to select the synchronized
recording mode.
The mode switches as shown
below each time the button is
pressed.

The entire CD is recorded.
The entire CD is recorded and
registered as a group.
Only the first track on the CD is
recorded.
Synchronized recording of a specific track is possible by
selecting the track number using the 8 and 9
buttons on the ADV-M71 then selecting ”SRS 1Tr
Rec?” on the MD recorder.

Press the MD recorders ENTER
button.
Recording of the CD starts
automatically.
Once all the tracks on the CD have been played, both the ADV-
M71 and MD recorder are automatically set to the stop mode.
Even if the entire CD has not yet been played, both the ADV-M71
and MD recorder are automatically set to the stop mode once the
MD is full.
To stop synchronized recording, press the stop button (
2) on the
ADV-M71 or the MD recorder.
NOTES:
Synchronized recording does not work when the ADV-M71 is
set to a function other than DVD.
Synchronized recording does not work when in the programmed
play mode. When in the random play or repeat play mode, the
respective mode is canceled when synchronized recording
starts.
