To save the power in standby mode
Press AMP "/1 and/or DVD "/1 while the
system turns on. To cancel standby mode, press
the button once.
To stop playback
Press x.
To resume playback from the point where you
stopped the disc (Resume Play)
The recorder stores the point where you stopped
the disc even if the disc is removed or the recorder
turns off.
Press x once to stop playback. When you play the
disc next time, the recorder resumes playback
from the point where you stopped the disc.
To start from the beginning, press x twice.
Playback starts from the beginning of the title/
track/scene.
The point where you stopped playing is cleared
when:
–you play another title.
–you edit the title after stopping playback.
–you change the settings on the recorder.
–you make a recording.
To play restricted DVDs (Parental Control)
If you play a restricted DVD, the message
[Playback limited by Parental Control.] and the
display for entering your password appear on the
TV screen.
1 Enter your four-digit password using the
number buttons.
2 Press SET to select [OK].
The recorder starts playback.
To register or change the password, see “Parental
Control Settings” (page 81).

To play without PBC functions, set [PBC] to [Off] in
[Settings] Setup (page 78). VIDEO CDs are played in
continuous play mode only.
You can also use the H button in step 7 (page 51) to
start playback.
To play a title including hidden chapters on a
DVD+RW or DVD+R, select [Full Play] in step 7
(page 51). For details about hidden chapters, see
page 68.
