DAB1 DISTRIBUTED AUDIO SYSTEM
Programming Keypad Macros for the DAB1
All commands executed by C4630 SE Main and Numeric Keypads and DAB1 Keypads must be programmed into the the
buttons as macros. Even the keypad functions that operate “out-of-the-box” are actually macros that have been factory-
programmed into the buttons. Macros can range in complexity from a single DAB1 internal function all the way to extremely
sophisticated procedures that involve DAB1 internal commands, IR commands to various system components, timing delays,
RS-232 commands and conditional instructions.
Device Screen (see Figure 44)
The BUTTON ACTION SELECTOR lets you program
each of the three levels of action for each
button: P
RESS, PRESS-AND-HOLD, and DOUBLE-PRESS
(EXTRA COMMANDS is covered on page 50). Each
of these different actions can be programmed with
its own function or macro. Once a button has
been programmed with a function or macro a
M
ACRO INDICATOR appears on its upper-left corner.
The Z
ONE S
ELECTOR lets you select each of the six
zones, and the D
EVICE S
ELECTOR lets you select differ-
ent DAB1s (if the system has more than one).
General Macro Programming Notes:
1) There is no POWER ON button or command.
Pressing a S
OURCE SELECT button in an inactive
zone will turn the zone ON
in addition to
selecting the source component.
2) Any time a macro is programmed to a button
in the P
RESS level, it is necessary to include
the DAB1 Internal Command for that button’s
default function (see
Internal Commands
, on page 41). For example, when programming a macro for a CD source select
button that will select S
OURCE 2 in ZONE 1, delay 2 seconds and include a PLAY command to be routed to Programmed
IR Port 2, the macro would be:
SStteepp 11:: IInntteerrnnaall CCoommmmaanndd // [[TThhiiss UUnniitt]] [[TThhiiss ZZoonnee]] SSeelleecctt SSoouurrccee 22
SStteepp 22:: PPaauussee ffoorr 22 SSeeccoonnddss
SSt
teepp 33:: PPoorrtt 22 // [[BBrraanndd//CCDD PPllaayyeerr//MMooddeell ##]] // PPllaayy
3) It is necessary to include the Port number and use the P
ROGRAMMED IR jacks when using multiple same-brand same-model
components, such as two identical CD Changers. (The default P
ROGRAMMED IR Port settings match the four input sources:
Programmed IR Port 1 = Source 1, etc.)
