DAB1 DISTRIBUTED AUDIO SYSTEM
DAB1 Keypad
(see Figure 22)
The DAB1 Keypad lets you select the active source and control
the zone’s volume and muting, as well as providing a Z
ONE OFF
button and a built-in IR receiver.
The Z
ONE OFF button’s LED color indicates the zone’s status:
RReedd::
Zone is OFF
(DAB1 is receiving power)
GGrreeeenn::
Zone is ON
OOrraannggee::
Built-in IR receiver is receiving IR commands
((ffllaasshhiinngg))
or a keypad button is being pressed. This occurs
even if the Zone is turned OFF
Each keypad button has three different actions: PRESS, PRESS-
A
ND-HOLD and DOUBLE-PRESS. This allows each button to issue
three distinct commands or macros. Out-of-the-box the follow-
ing button functions are available on the Main Keypad:

Additional P
RESS, PRESS-AND-HOLD, DOUBLE-PRESS, source component control and macro trigger
functions require programming with the Sonance Control Manager software. The Sonance Control
Manager can also be used to change any of the above out-of-the-box button functions.
DAB1 Keypad IR Receiver
The DAB1 keypad’s built-in IR receiver allows the included IR remote to control the local zone (see
DAB1 IR Remote Control
, on page 25). The IR receiver also passes IR commands from 3rd-party IR
remotes to IR emitters that are connected to the C
OMMON IR Outputs (see
IR Connections
, on page
15). The IR Receiver can be enabled or disabled via a rear-panel jumper (see
Figure 23
).
DAB1 Keypad Backlighting Jumper
The DAB1 keypad has a rear-panel Backlight Jumper (
Figure 24
) that allows you to adjust
the amount of keypad backlighting to suit room lighting conditions and user preference.
Position 1 = DIM; Position 2 = BRIGHT; remove the jumper to turn the backlight OFF
.
NOTE: Unless the backlight jumper is removed, the keypad backlighting is
always ON
, even if the local zone and all zones are OFF.
