H What the timer can do
The timer in this product can do the following:
I To use the timer, be sure to adjust the clock. (page 10)
Timer playback:
Music (CDs, MDs, radio, sound from an external unit) can be played
automatically at a preset time. The playback ending time can also be
set.
Timer recording:
You can record the sound from a radio or an external unit on an MD
while you are out or when you are asleep.
Sleep operation:
When the preset amount of time has elapsed, the music will stop
automatically, and the power will be turned off. This is convenient for
going to sleep.

H To set up the timer for playback
Before starting timer playback, the following preparations
are required.
I Load a CD or an MD.
I Select the CD to be played.
I Preset the radio station.
1 While in the stop mode, press the TIMER/DELETE button.
2 Within 10 seconds, press the or on the MULTI CONTROL
button to select "TIMER SET". Then, press the ENTER button.
3 Within 10 seconds, press the or on the MULTI CONTROL
button to select "PLAY".
I Each time the button is pressed, the display will alternate between
"PLAY" and "REC".
4 Within 10 seconds, press the on the MULTI CONTROL
button to select the position where the start time hour ("ON")
flashes. Then, press the
or on the MULTI CONTROL
button to adjust the hour.
5 Press the on the MULTI CONTROL button to select the
position where the start time minutes flash. Then, press the
or on the MULTI CONTROL button to adjust the minutes.
I When the button is held down, the time will change in increments of
5 minutes.
6 Adjust the hour and minute for the stop time ( "OFF") using the
same procedure as described in steps 4 - 5 above.
7 Press the or on the MULTI CONTROL button to select
the position where the sound source flashes. Then, press the
or on the MULTI CONTROL button to select the sound
source you want to listen to.
I Each time the button is pressed, the source will change as follows:
MD CD TUNER AUX1 AUX2 AUX OPT AUX
COAX PHONO
I When no radio stations have been stored in memory, "TUNER" will not
appear.
When "TUNER" has been selected
I "P-01" will appear to the right of "TUNER". After pressing the on the
MULTI CONTROL button (the flashing area moves), press the or
on the MULTI CONTROL button to select the location number of the
radio station you want to listen to.
