Playing a tape (continued)
Recording a tape on an
MD
— TAPE-MD Synchro Recording
You can make an analog recording of a tape on an
MD. You can use TYPE I (normal), TYPE II
(CrO2) or TYPE IV (metal) tape, since the tape
deck automatically detects the tape type.
To turn on the system, press ?/1 (power).
?/1 (power)
Fast-forward or
rewind
Press m or M.
Remove or replace
the tape
Press TAPE Z.
Adjust the volume Turn VOLUME.
Tips
Pressing TAPE nN when the system is off
automatically turns on the system and starts playing
a tape if there is a tape in the system (One Touch
Play).
You can switch from another source to the tape
deck and start playing a tape just by pressing
TAPE nN (Automatic Source Selection).
To listen to a tape recorded with the Dolby noise
reduction system, press DOLBY NR so “;
appears in the display.
2 Press FUNCTION repeatedly to switch
the function to TAPE.
3 Press DIRECTION repeatedly until g
appears to play one side or h (or
j*) to play both sides.
* The tape deck stops automatically after
repeating the sequence five times.
4 Press TAPE nN.
The right indicator on the TAPE nN
button lights up, then the tape starts playing
from the front side.
To change the playback direction, press
TAPE nN again. The left indicator lights
up, then the reverse side starts playing.
To Do this
Stop play Press TAPE x.
Pause Press TAPE X. The indicator on
the TAPE X button lights up.
Press again to resume play.
