Recording to CF/CD
Layering Your Performance with a Song from a Music CD
(Overdubbing)
While you play back a music CD, you can add your own vocal
or instrumental performance and record the combined result
on a CF card. This process is called “overdubbing.”
MEMO
The track created by overdubbing will be at the end of
the CF card.
The metronome cannot be used while overdubbing a
performance with a music CD ( Page 52).
HINT
You can check the amount of recording time that
remains on the CF card. Page 75, “Displaying the
Remaining Time”
You can increase the amount of free space on a CF card
by deleting unwanted tracks. Page 58
You can use the Center Cancel function to create a
karaoke CD by removing a vocal from a CD that
contains a vocal.

* On some CD tracks (songs), this may not produce the
desired result.
You can select the recording mode that’s appropriate for
the content you’re recording. Page 36, “Choosing the
CF Card Recording Mode”
You can use a foot switch to start/pause recording. In
Step 2 of “Specifying the function of the foot switch” on
Page 76, choose “Play” and operate the foot switch.

Make preparations for recording.
Insert a CF card.

If the message “Not CD-2 Format” appears,
format the card as described in “Preparing a CF
Card for Use.” (Page 36)
Press enough times to get it to
light in orange.
“The sound from the mic connected to the MIC
1/MIC 2 jacks” will be selected for recording.

Adjust the input level.
