Notes
! When playing discs with MP3/WMAfiles and
audio data (CD-DA) such as CD-EXTRA and
MIXED-MODE CDs, both types can be played
only by switching mode betweenMP3/WMA
and CD-DA by touching MEDIA or pressing
BAND/ESC. This function can be operated
only when the disc is playing.
! If you have switched between playbackof
MP3/WMA files and audio data (CD-DA), play-
back starts at the first trackon the disc.
! This DVD player can play back anMP3/WMA
file recorded on CD-ROM. (Refer to page 105
for files that can be played back.)
! There is sometimes a delay betweenstarting
up CD playback and the sound beingissued.
When being read in, FORMAT READ is dis-
played.
! Playback is carried out in order offile number.
Folders areskipped if they contain no files. (If
folder 001 (ROOT) contains no files,playback
commences with folder 002.)
! This unit does not play back WMA filesre-
corded as VBR (variable bit rate).
! When playing back files recorded asVBR
(variable bit rate) files, the playtime will not be
correctly displayed if fast forward or reverse
operations are used.
! If the inserted disc contains no files that can
be played back, NON-PLAYABLE DISC is dis-
played.
! When playing an MP3/WMA disc containing
more than 192 tracks, READY appears for the
track titles of 193rd or later. The track title of
those tracks is displayed on the information
bar when it plays back.
! If the inserted disc contains WMA files that
are protected by digital rights management
(DRM) , TRK SKIPPED is displayedwhile the
protected file is skipped.
! If all the files on the inserted disc aresecured
by DRM, PROTECT is displayed.
! When a disc contains both WMA fileswhich
are protected by DRM and audio data(CD-
DA), both types cannot be switched.In this
case, only audio data will be playedback.
! There is no sound on fast forward or reverse.
! If you do not use the touch panel keyswithin
30 seconds, they will be hiddenauto-
matically.
Stopping playback
% Touch g.
# When you stop MP3/WMA playback bytouch-
ing g, that location on the disc is memorized, en-
abling playback from that point whenyou play
the disc again.
# To play back the disc again, touch f.
Pausing MP3/WMA playback
Pause lets you temporarily stop disc playback.
% Touch f during playback.
PAUSE appears in the display. Play of the cur-
rent track pauses.
# To resume playback atthe same point that you
turned pause on, touch fagain.
Displaying the list of
information on MP3/WMA file
Information recorded on a MP3/WMA disc
can be displayed.
