Meaning
= No MD is inserted in the unit.
= An attempt is made to perform high-speed recording of more than 30 discs
within 74 minutes.
= An attempt is made to record digital signal from a source while its digital copy
has been prohibited by SCMS.
= An attempt is made to edit a track which is too short.
= The contents of UTOC* are abnormal. In this case, perform "ALL ERASE"
operation (page 43). If this is not possible, use another disc.
= There is no recordable area on the disc or an attempt is made to record a
256th track. In this case, use another recordable disc. Note that more than
255 tracks cannot be recorded on a disc.
= An MD is not inserted.
= The MD disc does not contain any track but has a disc title.
= The inserted MD is a playback only disc.
= The inserted MD is write-protected. In this case, enable the recording (page
53).
= The TOC* information in the disc is being read.
= An attempt is made to display the text information of a CD TEXT disc
containing more than 1 kB of text information.
= An attempt is made to assign a title with more characters than usable. See
"Total number of title characters" (page 33).
= There is some trouble with the unit. Return to normal condition may be made
by turning the unit OFF then ON again.
= The data related to editing or recording is being written in the disc.
* All minidiscs contain a Table of Contents (TOC) in addition to sound signals. The TOC is similar to the table
of contents in a book and contains information, such as track numbers, track length, and character information,
that cannot be rewritten.
In addition to the TOC, minidiscs also contain a special Users Table of Contents (UTOC) that contains track
number, track length, and character information, that can be rewritten.
