High-speed recording
of all CD tracks onto
an MD
All of the tracks in a CD can be recorded in
half the usual period of time.
Main unit only

Make preparation for recording.
See steps 1 to 3 in "Recording CD onto
MD" (page 18).

Press the MENU key.

Press the VOLUME/
MULTI CON-
TROL
UP ( ) or DOWN ( ) key
so that "REC MODE ?" is dis-
played, then press the SET/
DEMO key.

Press the VOLUME/
MULTI CON-
TROL
UP ( ) or DOWN ( ) key
so that "CD MD <HIGH>" is
displayed, then press the SET/
DEMO key.
The CD starts to be played at the double
speed and the signal is recorded onto the
MD also at the double speed.
When all CD tracks have been recording,
both the CD and MD stop automatically.
Perform the operations in steps 2 to 4
within 5 seconds.
To stop recording in the middle :
Press the STOP 7 key (or the 7 STOP key on
the remote). This stops both playback and
recording.
÷ Be careful not to apply vibration to the unit while
"WRITING" is displayed, because the MD recorder
is writing recorded and edited data in the MD in
this period. Also, to avoid loss of recorded and
edited data, do not unplug the power cord before
"WRITING" disappears.
÷ Once high-speed recording of "CD MD <HIGH>"
has been started, it is not permitted to record the
same CD by high-speed recording within 74 min-
utes after the start of previous high-speed record-
ing. It is also prohibited to continue high-speed
recording of more than 31 discs within 74 min-
utes.
If you want to record the same CD again, use the
MD O.T.E. recording (page 18).
