TheDP570supportsfourProLogicIImodes:Movie,Music,ProLogic,andMatrix.
Panorama,Dimension,andCenterWidthofferavarietyofsettingsactivatedinMusic
mode.
Moviemodeisthestandardsettingforprogramswithvideo.Thisdecodingisbasedonthe
originalProLogicdecoding
scheme,butwiththesingleSurroundchannelseparatedinto
LeftandRightSurroundchannels.
MusicmodeisthemostversatilefeatureofProLogicII.ThesettingsonthePanorama,
Dimension,andCenterWidthmenuscanhelpaconsumermakeastereo(Lo/Ro)
recordingintoonethattakesadvantageof
amultichannellisteningenvironment.
Particularlyattractiveforautomotiveentertainmentsystems,thiscanbeusedinhome
theatersaswell.
ProLogicistheProLogicIIsystemreproductionoftheoriginalProLogicdecoding
system.BecauseconsumerdecodersnowofferProLogicIIasthedefaultDolbySurround
decodingsystem,this
emulationmodeisavailabletoreproducetheoriginalProLogic
decodingiftheconsumerwishestohearit.(Thisoptionisnotavailableonallconsumer
decodersmadewithProLogicII.)
Matrixisprimarilyforradioreceptionincars.Itisessentiallythesameastheoriginal
passiveDolbySurround
decoderwithoutthedirectionalsteeringprovidedbyProLogic.
Matrixmodecanalsoenhancemonoprograms,and canbeusedtotrytocleanupweak
radiosignalsincars.YoucanapplyMatrixtoamonoinputbyselectingtheLo/Ro
downmix,andthenProLogicII.NeitherProLogic
IInorProLogicisavailableinamono
downmix.
