Using the DP570 Features Generating and Adjusting Metadata
4.3.1 Choosing the Source of Metadata
Normallyyouwilluseanentiremetadatastreamfromonesource,butthatisnotrequired.
Youcontrolthissourcechoiceatthreelevels:
1. Youchooseaprogramconfiguration.Thisdefaultsallparametersforallprogramsin
thestreamtothesourceyouchose:internal,external1,orexternal2.
Anexample
ofthisconfigurationisaQCenvironment,wheretheoperatorusesthe
entiremetadatastreamtomonitorthe overallaudioquality.
2. Youchooseasourceforaparticularprogram.Thisautomatically setsthedefault
sourceforallparametersintheprogrambutdoesnotaffectanyoftheotherprograms
in
thestream.
3. Youcanchooseanexternalsourceforanindividualparameterwhichaffectsonlythat
selectedparameter.
Typicallyyouwoulddothistocorrectaknownerror.
DolbyRemote570makesselectingthemetadatasourcesimple.Choosinganexternal
programconfigurationorprogramchangesparametersettingsautomatically.Individual
parameterscanstillbe
changedwithoutaffectingotherparameters.
Metadatasourcechoicesstaysetuntil:
•Youmanually changeasourcechoice.
•Youreceiveadifferentprogramconfiguration.

Whenthesourceisinternal, thedefaultvaluesthe DP57 0appliesaredeterminedbythe
numberofchannelsintheinputasshowninTable 41.
