Thedigitalwatchdogisdisabledbydefault.Onceenabled,asequenceoftwo16-bitkeyvalues(0xE51A
followedby0xA35Cintwoseparatewrites)mustbecontinuallywrittentothekeyregisterbeforethe
watchdogcountercountsdowntozero;otherwise,theDSPwillbereset.Thisfeaturecanbeusedto
provideanaddedmeasureofrobustnessagainstasoftwarefailure.Iftheapplicationfailsandceasesto
writetothewatchdogkey;thewatchdogwillrespondbyresettingtheDSPandtherebyrestartingthe
application.
NotethatCounter0andCompare0areusedbyDSPBIOStogeneratethetickcounteritrequires;
however,Capture0isstillavailableforusebytheapplicationaswellastheremainingRTIresources.
