1 Connect the digital optical cable.

2 Press FUNCTION repeatedly until
“OPTICAL IN” appears.

Recording audio from a
connected component
Making a digital recording
from a digital component
The Serial Copy Management system (page 64)
may prevent you from making a digital
recording of certain material. In this case,
connect the component to ANALOG IN jacks
and make an analog recording.
1 Connect the digital optical cable.
2 Start recording manually.

21) or “Recording on a tape manually”
(page 47).
Tips
You can activate Time Machine Recording (page
22) and Smart Space/Auto Cut functions (page 25).
You can adjust the recording level when recording
on an MD (page 25).
