■ Recording from the built-in radio to a cassette
tape

Tune in to the desired station. (Pages 15 - 16.)
2 Load a blank cassette into the cassette compartment.
● Wind past the tape leader which cannot be recorded on.
3 Press the TAPE REC ● button.
● "TAPE ●" will flash, and the unit will enter the recording stand-
by mode.
4 Press the button.
● After one side of the tape has finished recording, the recording
will stop automatically.
To stop recording:
Press the ■ button.
● It is not possible to pause in the recording mode.
Notes:
● Before recording an AM broadcast, enter the recording stand-
by mode, and then separate the AM loop aerial from the main
unit. Adjust it so that the AM broadcast can be tuned in most
clearly.
● During recording, you cannot change the station.
■ Recording from CDs or MDs to a cassette tape
(Synchronised Recording System)
When a CD or an MD is played, recording will start automatically.
1 Load CDs or MiniDiscs.
2 Load a blank cassette into the cassette compartment.
● Wind past the tape leader which cannot be recorded on.
3 Press the CD or MD button to select the desired function.
● To select the track you want to start recording from, select a
disc using the CD PLAY or MD PLAY button, and press the
■ button to stop the disc. Then, use the jog dial to select the
track.
(Continuous recording will start from the selected track.)
● Use the APMS function to store the tracks you want to record
in memory. (See page 29.)
4 Press the TAPE REC ● button.
● "TAPE ●" will flash, and the unit will enter the recording stand-
by mode.
● To cancel the operation, press the ■ button.
5 Press the button.
● Recording will start from the CD or MD whose red frame is
flashing.
● After the recording has finished, the CD or MiniDisc and the
tape will stop automatically.
To specify the disc to start with and start recording:
①Perform steps 1 - 3 above.
②Press one of the CD PLAY 1 - 3 buttons or MD PLAY
1 - 3 buttons.
③Press the ■ button.
④Press the TAPE REC ● button, then the button.
To stop recording:
Press the ■ button after pressing the ■ button.
● It is not possible to pause in the recording mode.
Note:
● When the playing time on a CD or a MiniDisc is greater than
the time you can record on one side of a tape, the unit will
record on one side and then the tape will stop.
In this case, press the ■ button to stop the CD or MiniDisc.
