75 DPI. This is the maximum resolution possible with a Video Blaster card. If a Video Blaster
card is not connected, higher resolutions can be selected.
Pixels = 640 x 531. If windows are required to remain open (e.g., Video window), the size of
the map can be reduced so windows can be placed in the vacant space around the map. The re-
duction in size will depend on user requirements.
If the screen resolution of the monitor is not 800 x 600, the pixel size will need to be selected to
suit the monitor.
2. Save the file to the same directory as the Graphic Controller program (e.g., C:\Gcon).
NOTE: If maps are edited or changed at a later stage, remember to export an updated *.BMP file.
3.4 FILES
The following files are required for each installation map:
*.bmp = bitmap file of the installation map.
*.map = details the position and function of camera/Macro buttons. This file is created by the
Graphic Controller program when camera buttons are programmed.
*.alm = details the position and function of alarms buttons. This file is created by the Graphic
Controller program when alarm buttons are programmed.
*.are = details the position and function of area buttons. This file is created by the Graphic
Controller program when area buttons are programmed.
Where * is the name of each installation map (e.g., first_fl).
Large sites may require many installation maps to completely cover the entire installation.
All files should be stored in the same directory as the Graphic Controller program (e.g., C:\Gcon).
3.4.1 Saving Files
Whenever changes are made to buttons or the work station set up in the graphic Controller program, the file
must be saved.
To save files:
1. Complete changes to the buttons and the work station set up as required.
2. When all changes are complete, select Save Map from the Map menu option. The Save Map &
Details window (illustrated in figure 3-2) will appear. This command saves the *.MAP, *.ALM
and *.ARE files (where * is the filename of the map currently displayed).
