Preparing for the Upgrade 5
postinstallation script processing. You can create this directory on the workstation that will be
the 4.1 rmdhost workstation and mount the directory as a file system to the
COMMAND/POST 3.2.3 rmdhost workstation prior to preinstallation processing. In this way,
the preinstallation script creates the upgrade files directly in the 4.1 rmdhost workstation and
they are resident during postinstallation processing.
Upgrade Hardware Requirements
The agc database raw logical volume needs to be at least 60% larger than that of the
COMMAND/POST 3.2.3 databases. For example, if the 3.2.3 agc database raw logical volume
size is 300 megabytes, of which 80% is used, to upgrade to COMMAND/POST 4.1, a
minimum raw logical volume size of
(80% x 300 MB) x 1.6 = 385 megabytes minimum disk space must be available.
To account for possible database expansion, you may want to increase your default database by
60% for a total of 480 megabytes.
In addition, if the agc database segment is set to DEFAULT on the installation GUI, the master
segment size needs to be increased to accommodate the agc database size.
Note: The DEFAULT setting indicates that the agc database segment resides in the same
logical volume as the master segment.
