Running the Preinstallation Script 15
Creating the Postinstallation Files
The script calculates the required disk space based on the amount of data residing in your
databases, creates a set of files that will be used as input during the postinstallation process,
and determines whether there is sufficient space for these files in
/home/u/NetCmmnd/upgrade directory.
To create the postinstallation files:
1. At the prompt shown below (which was displayed previously in Step 3 on page 13),
perform one of the following steps:
To use the COMMAND/POST 3.2.3 default /home/u/NetCmmnd/upgrade
directory, press Return.
To store the COMMAND/POST upgrade files elsewhere, type a new directory
pathname at the prompt, notate this directory pathname on the Upgrade Planning
Form on page 7, and then press Return.
The script extracts the Sybase type definitions, stored procedures, and tables, and then
creates files in the specified directory.
The following messages and prompts are displayed about backing up the /etc,
/home/u/NetCmmnd, /usr/nc, /usr/sybase, and /var/spool/NetCmmnd

/var/spool/NetCmmnd directory resides on each COMMAND/POST
workstation.
