About the demonstration mode
The player enters the demonstration mode

Demonstration indications such as
Demonstration Mode appear in the display
one after another.
The player also enters the demonstration
mode if you do not operate the player for
about one minute after you turned it on.
To exit the demonstration mode, set the
clock of the player (page 35), or press
NOCANCEL for about 2 seconds.

The sound quality may be changed depending on
the polarity of the mains plug. Change the
direction of inserting the plug and check the sound
quality.
4 Inserting batteries into the remote
Insert two R6 (size AA) batteries (not
supplied).
Replacing batteries
With normal use, the batteries should last for
about six months. When the remote no
longer operates the player, replace all the
batteries with new ones.
To improve the MW/LW
reception
Connect a 6- to 15-meter (20- to 50 feet)
(not supplied) insulated wire to the MW/LW
ANTENNA terminal. Keep the wire as
horizontal as possible near the window or
outdoor. You do not need to disconnect the
supplied MW/LW loop aerial.
Important
When you use an outdoor aerial, be sure to
connect the U terminal to earth against lightning.
To prevent a gas explosion, do not connect the
ground wire to a gas pipe.
