To change the type of input characters
Press the DISPLAY button and select the type of
input characters in the above step 3-(1) before
turning and pressing the MULTI JOG dial to enter
characters.
Using the remote controller (RC-448C) for
entering names
• Entering an alphabetic character
Press the desired numeric button to sequentially
display the characters indicated on it. For
example, pressing the 2/ABC button each time
changes the displayed character in the sequence
of A→B→C→A. When the character you want
appears, press the ENTER button.
• Entering an easy name
Press the desired numeric button to sequentially
display the easy names by the initial letters
indicated on it. For example, pressing the 2/ABC
button each time changes the displayed easy
name to BALLAD, BLUES, CLASSIC, and so on.
When the easy name you want appears, press
the ENTER button.

• Entering a number or symbol
Press the desired numeric button to display the
number indicated on it. Or, repeatedly press the
>10/./* button to change displaying the desired
symbol, ./*-,!?( ), in that order, and press the 10/
0/- button to display a space. When the number
or symbol you want appears, press the ENTER
button.
You may select the desired character using the
q or w button and press the ENTER
button to enter it.
Note:
Using the remote controller to enter symbols
You may not be able to enter some symbols using
the remote controller numeric buttons. To enter a
symbol, select it using the remote controller q
or w button.
To correct an input character
Press the d or f button on the CDR-201A or
the remote controller. While the character you wish
to correct appears flashing, enter a correct character.
To insert a character
Press the d or f button on the CDR-201A or
the remote controller. When the position where you
wish to insert a character appears flashing, turn the
MULTI JOG dial counterclockwise ( appears
flashing) and press the MULTI JOG dial. Enter a
correct character at the position where the cursor is
flashing.
To erase a character
Press the d or f button on the CDR-201A or
the remote controller. When the character you wish
to erase appears flashing, press the EDIT/NO button
or the remote controller CLEAR button.
