Programing the Track Playing Order
—Program Play
You can arrange the order in which the tracks play before you
start playing. You can program up to 32 tracks.
There is a time limit in doing the following steps. If the
setting is canceled before you finish, start from step
3
again.

Load an MD.
If the current playing source is not “MD,” press
MD 6, then 7 before going to the next step.
On the remote control ONLY:

Press PLAY MODE repeatedly
until “MD PROGRAM” appears
on the display.
The PRGM indicator lights up on the display.
Each time you press the button, play mode changes as
follows:
If a program has been stored in memory, the program is
called up.

Press the number buttons
to select the tracks.
For how to use the number
buttons, see “To go to another
track directly using the number
buttons” on page 21.

Repeat step

Press MD 6.
The tracks are played in the order you
have programed. Program Play ends when
all the programed tracks are played once
(when Repeat Play is not activated).
To stop during play, press 7.
To exit from Program Play, before or after play, press PLAY
MODE repeatedly so that the unit enters another play mode
(Random Play, Group Play, or Normal Play).
The PRGM indicator goes off.
Turning off the unit also cancels Program Play and changes
the play mode to Normal Play. The program you have made
is still stored in the memory until you erase the entire
program (see below).
To check the program contents
On the remote control ONLY:
Before playing, you can check the
program contents by pressing ¢ or
4.
¢: Shows the programed tracks in
the programed order.
4: Shows them in the reverse order.
To modify the program
On the remote control ONLY:
Before playing, you can erase the last
programed track by pressing CANCEL.
Each time you press the button, the last
programed track is erased from the program.
To add tracks in the program before playing, simply select
the track numbers you want to add by following step
3
in
Program Play.
To erase the entire program, press 0 (MD eject) on the unit
to eject the MD.
The program will be erased when you unplug the AC power
cord or a power failure occurs.
If you try to program a 33rd track
“MEMORY FULL” will appear on the display.
If your entry is ignored
You are trying to program a track that does not exist on the MD (for
example, selecting track 14 on an MD that only has 12 tracks).
If the total playing time is 150 minutes or more
The total playing time on the display will not be shown. “– – : – –” will
appear.
