4 Playback
Playing Discs
The CDR1000 can play prerecorded audio CDs and unfinalized or finalized CD-R or
CD-RW discs. Only Session 1 of a multi-session disc can be played.
1 Load the disc that you want to play.
See “Loading & Unloading Discs” on page 18 for more information.
2 Press the [PLAY] button.
Playback starts from the first track, the PLAY indicators light up, and the time counter
starts counting.
Playback can also be started by using an optional footswitch. See “Using a Footswitch”
on page 50 for more information.
The time counter can be set to display the elapsed playback time, remaining playback
time, or total playback time. See “Setting the Time Display” on page 19 for more infor-
mation.
Pausing Playback
1 Press the [PAUSE] button to pause playback.
Playback pauses, the PLAY indicators go out, and the PAUSE indicator lights up.
2 Press the [PAUSE] or [PLAY] button to resume playback.
Playback resumes, the PAUSE indicator goes out, and the PLAY indicators light up.
The Search functions can be used while playback is paused. See “Searching” on page 24
for more information.
Stopping Playback
1 Press the [STOP] button to stop playback.
Playback stops and the PLAY indicators go out.
Playback can also be stopped by using an optional footswitch. See “Using a Footswitch”
on page 50 for more information.
Playback stops automatically when the end of the disc is reached.
