Function
Select the soundtrack language.
Select the subtitle language.
Select the language for the top menu and other menus shown by
the disc.
Set a ratings level for playing a DVD.
Select the language used for menus and messages the unit
displays on the television (including these menus).
Choose whether to show the on-screen messages that appear
on the television when you perform operations.
Select the colour and position of on-screen massages and GUI.
Select the aspect ratio that suits your television (á page 8).
Set the delay time for your center and surround speakers (á
page 48).
Select a picture type for when the picture is paused.
Select whether to have sound on or off during the first level of
forward search (DVD/Video CD only).
Select to view how software made for a widescreen television is
displayed on a regular television (á page 49).
Select whether to have dynamic range compression during play
of Dolby Digital software.
Select whether to show the picture type (I/P/B) when a DVD is
paused.
Select whether to output the video signal on NTSC discs as PAL
60 or as NTSC.

Setting ratings (When level 8 is selected)
Level 8: All DVDs can be played.
Level 1 to level 7: Prohibits play of DVDs with
corresponding ratings recorded on them.
Level 0: Prohibits play of all DVDs.
