Turn on the Level Synchro
Recording function
Note
You cannot mark track numbers automatically if the
sound source to be recorded is noisy (e.g., tapes or
radio programs).
1 Press FUNCTION repeatedly until “MD”
appears in the display.
2 Press MENU/NO on the remote.
3 Press . or > repeatedly until
“Setup?” appears in the display, and then
press ENTER/YES on the remote.
4 Press . or > repeatedly until “T.Mark
Off” (or “T.Mark LSync”) appears, and then
press ENTER/YES on the remote.
5 Press . or > repeatedly to select the
setting, and then press ENTER/YES on the
remote.

To change the trigger level for
automatic track marking
Do the procedure below to change the signal
level that triggers automatic track marking.
(The factory setting is –50 dB.)
1 Press MENU/NO on the remote during
recording pause to display “Setup?”, and
then press ENTER/YES on the remote.
2 Press . or > repeatedly until “LS(T)”
appears, and then press ENTER/YES on
the remote.
3 Press . or > repeatedly to select the
level, and then press ENTER/YES on the
remote.
You can set the level at any value between
–72 dB and 0 dB, in 2 dB steps.
4 Press MENU/NO on the remote.
To cancel automatic track marking
Press . or > repeatedly until “T.Mark
Off” appears in step 5 of the left column, and
then press ENTER/YES on the remote.
“LEVEL-SYNC” disappears. When “LEVEL-
SYNC” is off, a track number is marked only at
the beginning of each recording.
Marking track numbers at a specific
point during recording

You can mark track numbers at any time when
recording to an MD from the tuner or from an
optional component connected to the TAPE IN
or DIGITAL OPTICAL IN jack, regardless of
the type of sound source.
Press REC/REC IT during recording at the
point you want to add a track mark.

When you set the Level Synchro Recording
function, “LEVEL-SYNC” lights up.
6 Press MENU/NO on the remote.
