Learning mode: Programming signals from other remote controls
If preset codes are not available for your component(s), or the available preset codes do not operate correctly, you can
use this function to program in signals from the remote control(s) of your other component(s). This operation can also
be used after recalling a preset code to program additional operations not covered in the preset codes.
Remote Control of Other Components
1 Turn on your TV and the receiver.
Make sure your TV is set to the appropriate video input (e.g.
VIDEO 1).
2 Press REMOTE SETUP.
The REMOTE SET UP menu appears on your TV screen.
3 Press REMOTE SETUP and

at the same time to
select the LEARNING SETUP mode.
All the MULTI CONTROL buttons (except the TUNER button)
start to blink.
To cancel LEARNING SETUP mode
Press REMOTE SET UP.
4 Press the MULTI CONTROL button for the
component you want to control.
Each button can be set to control one of the following
components
The selected button continues to blink.
Learning Setup
1Place both commanders
pointing at each other.
2Select the item from
the Multi-control
buttons that should be
duplicated. (ex. DVD)
Multi-control button
starts blinking.
EXIT=Remote setup
Learning Setup
3Press one button that
should be duplicated.
4Multi-Contorol button
lights up.
5Press one button on the
original commander, and
hold 2 to 10 seconds.
6Repeat this process to
duplicate next command.
