The contrast of the LCD display on the amplifier-
tuner/ CD player can be switched as desired.
1Press the “mode” key.
2Rotate the “multi control” knob to select
“CONTRAST SET ?”, then press the “enter”
key.
3Select the desired brightness (display den-
sity) by rotating the “multi control” knob,
then press the “enter” key.
÷ Adjust the contrast when the LCD display is hard
to read due to a problem in the installation posi-
tion or to the ambient temperature condition, etc.

The orientation of the LCD window on the ampli-
fier-tuner/ CD player can be set to automatic
switching according to whether it is installed ver-
tically or horizontally (AUTO) or to manual switch-
ing as required by the user (MANUAL).
1Press the “mode” key.
2Rotate the “multi control” knob to select
“WINDOW SET ?”, then press the “enter”
key.
3Select “AUTO” or “MANUAL” by rotating
the “multi control” knob, then press the
“enter” key.
÷ When “MANUAL” is selected, the display orien-
tation can be changed by rotating the “multi con-
trol” knob while “CHANGE ?” is displayed to se-
lect the desired display orientation and pressing
the “enter” key.

When the power has been left ON for more than
30 minutes while the unit has been doing nei-
ther recording or playback in this period, the
A.P.S. function switches the power OFF
(standby) automatically. Whether the A.P.S.
function is to be used or not can be set with the
following steps.
1Press the “mode” key.
2Rotate the “multi control” key to select
“A.P.S. SET ?”, then press the “enter” key.
3Select “ON” or “OFF” by rotating the “multi
control” knob, then press the “enter” key.
÷ With the TUNER and AUX input, A.P.S. functions
only when the volume is set to zero.
÷ The LCD shows “A.P.S.” while this function is ac-
tive.
To cancel:
Select the desired switching method using
steps 1 to 3.

When the LCD display is invisible (due to
too bright contrast), press and hold the
“mode” key for more than 2 seconds. This
resets the contrast to the initial value.
