Symptom Cause Measures Page
Troubleshooting
If a problem should arise, first check the following.
1. Are all connections proper ?
2. Have you operated the player according to the Operating Instructions ?
If this unit is not operating properly, check the items listed in the table below. Should the problem persist,
there may be a malfunction. Disconnect the power immediately and contact your store of purchase.
Display does not light and
no sound is produced
when power is turned on.
• Power supply cord is not plugged into
power outlet.
•Plug the power supply cord into the
power outlet.

No sound is produced or
sound is distorted.
•Incomplete connections with the
various devices.
• The receiver’s function setting or
adjustments are not right.
• Check the connections.
• Check the receiver’s function and
controls and adjust as necessary.

pressing the DIMMER button on the
remote control unit.

“No Disc” is shown on

• The disc is dirty or scratched. • Wipe the dirt off the disc or replace
the disc.

cannot be played.
• The disc has not been finalized.
• The recording conditions are bad or
the quality of the disc itself it poor.
• Finalize the disc then play it.
• Use a properly recorded disc.

• The file formats, extensions or settings
made when disc was created are not
compatible with the CHR-F103.

extensions or settings compatible

•You are not connected to the network.
• The CD information is not included in
the Gracenote database on the HDD.

Selected tracks are not
recorded.
• Copyright protected tracks cannot be
recorded.
•MP3 and WMA files cannot be
recorded.
• Copy from the computer onto the
internal HDD using Denon Music
Manager.

Recorded tracks are not
displayed.
•Track registration information may
not be displayed properly if recording
was not completely normally, if the
AC power cord was unplugged during
recording, etc.
• If the track registration information is
not normal, press the ON/STANDBY
button while pressing the
2 button
and the CD/HDD/USB/NET button
simultaneously with the CHR-F103 in
the standby mode. “Rebuild Index
Mode” is displayed.
Select “Yes” then press the ENTER
button to rebuild the information
registered on the HDD.

CD recording takes a lot
of time.
• Recording can take a long time if the
CD is scratched or dirty.
•Wipe the dirt off the disc or replace
the disc.

You are not connected to

• The LAN cable is disconnected.
• (Server and CHR-F103) connected by
cross cable.
• Router’s or hub’s power is off.
• Network settings are wrong.
• Connect properly with a LAN cable.

hub.
•Check the router’s or hub’s operating
instructions.
• Contact your line administrator or
provider.

Sound is broken. • The sound may be broken depending
on the network environment.
• If the playback bit rate is high or the
server traffic is heavy, stop the other
applications running on the server.

No sound is produced. • Playback data is in a format with which
the CHR-F103 is not compatible.
