Tray 2, Tray 3, or Tray 4 nondetectable standard sizes
Trays 2, 3, and 4 can also use several standard sizes that are not automatically detected by
the printer. These sizes are 11 by 17 inches, ISO B 5, JIS Executive, JIS DPostcard, 8K, and
16K. Envelope sizes are not supported in Trays 2, 3, or 4.
To use a nondetectable standard size, move the tray switch to Custom and follow the steps
below.

to select PAPER HANDLING.
4. Press
to highlight TRAY 2 SIZE, TRAY 3 SIZE,orTRAY 4 SIZE.

to select TRAY 2 SIZE, TRAY 3 SIZE,orTRAY 4 SIZE.
6. Press
or to highlight the desired paper size.
7. Press
to select the paper size.
8. Press P
AUSE/RESUME to return to the Ready state.
Printing from Tray 1 (multipurpose tray)
Tray 1 is a multipurpose tray that holds up to 100 sheets of paper or 20 envelopes. It provides
a convenient way to print envelopes, transparencies, custom-size p aper, or other types of
paper without having to unload the other trays.
Loading paper into Tray 1
CAUTION To avoid jams, never add or remove a tray during printing.
1. Open Tray 1.
2. Set the side guides to the desired width.
