Troubleshooting
If you forget your login or administrator password,
you will be unable to access the PJP-MC24.
However, you can access the PJP-MC24 from
a serial terminal connected to the CONSOLE port
by logging on with this emergency password.
Emergency Password

You will have administrative privileges when you log
in with the emergency password. Set new
administrative and login passwords. When you
change passwords and are prompted for the
previous password, you can use the emergency
password in place of the actual previously set
password.
If You Forget Your Password
Resetting Passwords
Log in to the PJP-MC24 using the emergency
password and reset the passwords.

Perform steps 1 to 7 under 4, “Log In”
(page 76).

When the Password: box appears, enter
the emergency password.

Enter a command appropriate for the type
of the password you want to reset.
• If you forgot the administrator password, type
“administrator password” and press the Enter
key.
• If you forgot the login password, type “login
password” and press the Enter key.

When the Old_Password: box appears,
enter the emergency password.

When the New_Password: box appears,
enter the new password.

When the New_Password: box appears
again, enter the new password set in
step 5 one more time for conrmation.

Type “save” and press the Enter key.

Type “quit” and press the Enter key.
The password has been reset.
The next time you log in, use the new password
entered in step 5.
