Since there are a number of ways you can connect and use this
unit in a multi-room installation, we recommend that you
consult your nearest authorized YAMAHA dealer or service
center for the Zone 2 connections that best meet your
requirements.
Some YAMAHA models are able to connect directly to this
unit’s REMOTE CONTROL OUT jack. If you own these types
of products, you may not need to use an infrared emitter. Up to
6 YAMAHA components can be connected as shown here.
System configuration and connection example
Using external amplifiers
To use an external amplifier in Zone 2, select External in ZONE2 AMP.
When not using the main room, turn down the volume of this unit in the main room. Adjust the Zone 2 volume using the amplifier in
the second room.
To avoid unexpected noise, DO NOT USE the Zone 2 feature with CDs encoded in DTS.
Dolby Digital RF signals and signals input through an i.LINK connection are not output from ZONE 2 COAXIAL OUT. Further, the
Zone 2 volume setting does not apply to signals output from ZONE 2 COAXIAL OUT (i.e., input signals are output at the same
volume they are input).
